![]() But scientists today report an accelerated loss of biodiversity 1,000 times faster than the natural rate of approximately one to five species annually. It is true, species extinction has been a natural part of the Earth’s evolutionary history, as evidenced with the disappearance of dinosaurs in the Cretaceous Era, 65 million years ago, to the extinctions of the great megafauna such as mammoths and mastodons in the late Pleistocene Era who inhabited the last ice age some 10,000 years ago. Grief is part of extinction that when understood parallels love. What must it be like to surrender to one’s isolation by way of howl or cry or flight or bloom to attract a response, a glimmer or glint of kin? Certainly, they must know, sense, or fear this fact. Imagine an individual animal or insect or plant-alone-reaching, wandering, wondering, if they are the last of the living members of their kind. Say their names: great auk, passenger pigeon, Carolina parakeet, Steller’s sea cow, Caribbean monk seal, Great Plains wolf, Puerto Rican long-nosed bat, Maryland darter, Utah lake sculpin, Labrador duck, heath hen, Bachman’s warbler, Xerces blue butterfly, Wyoming toad, and Panamanian golden frog-all extinct beginning in the 1800s to present. Was surprised when after nine days with my count still not being back to the 21/21 it had been at before comp to receive my achievement and the X-Series walker. On the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, I am thinking about extinction and what that means for a creature, a living being, to vanish from existence. At first was worried I'd messed up but when I saw the second number hadn't changed and realized I wasn't paying for each day decided to keep going until I hit my 30 days. Every day after that you fast forward will also be free until your count reaches 16/16 again as your actually repeating days (as far as weather etc.) that you've already paid for but your total days at the location will continue to get added to despite that second number not changing.įound this out while doing the 30 days in California and taking part in a comp on day 21. at completion of the comp your count changes to 2/16 and your not charged for the day but the game actually has you as being at the location for 17 days at that point. If you look at your day count it goes from 16/16 to 1/16. Say you spend 16 days at a location then do a comp. Actually doing a comp in the middle is a money saver. For some reason that resets your day count to zero. Just be sure not to make the rookie mistake of doing a competition while you are there. You get to learn a lake pretty good in that much time as well. Some days I will fill a basket, others I fish just enough to pay the daily fee. And it is pretty idiotic that they charge you for kayak wear and tear even though you went to a lake with a "Kayaks are not allowed" warning.īoneserr a écrit :It's not that tough plus it is an interesting challenge for me. Some lakes are cheap, some are expensive for sure. I have 3 million in cash and every permanent map pass except the new ones so I didn't bat an eye at it. Agreed, it is only good if you have money to waste. However, as stated above by Juzt Lernin, it cost me 36,000 credits (at 1200/ day) + over 16,000 credits in accumulated wear and tear equipment repair costs, even though I never put a rod in the water. It is possible in 10 minutes, after waiting for the intial cooldown time, using a method that I misunderstood. 45 hours of real life "countdown time" or spending 30 baitcoins (1/day). It's a waste of money but so are a lot of the locations :)īy my calculation, that's approx. So you can do the 30 days in about 10 minutes. Forward one day at a time and every time you hit 10 pm it is considered night and won't give you the penalty to wait. Change the time to 10 pm then leave and come back after the countdown timer resets. Juzt_Lernin a écrit :If you have enough money to waste you can get these quickly.
